The Trip (Le Commencement!)

“This is the trip of my lifetime” as I've been told many times. I am excited to be going around the world while working toward some kind of future and having fun along the way. As of right now Mortuary Science and Funeral Services (MSFS) is my major but all of that is being put on hold to experience many opportunities of endless forms.  I plan to have a more concrete answer as to what I want to do for a career when I finish my trip. BUT Anything could happen between now and then.

As for the trip, it's called Semester At Sea!

The gist of it is that you take classes on a cruise ship and stop at ports around the world. You take a full semester credit load and the classes can then be transferred back to your school to go toward your degree. (Which for me could be anything at this point, including MSFS.) While traveling the seas we will be in class, including most weekends. Then, while in port we have travel options that may or may not pertain to our classes. It's a pretty interesting deal. You can check it out at semesteratsea.org. The ports that I will be stopping at on the 100th voyage of the MV Explorer are listed below on my itinerary. Pretty exciting!

Also exciting, I am connecting to an elementary class local to my home so that they can learn along side me. We will stay connected through this blog and postal deliveries of artifacts found on my trip. Right now it seems as if I will be connected with my Mom’s 4th grade class. Hello 4th grade class of Fall 2009! Lets go on a journey.

I will be working as much as possible on this blog for my Mom’s 4th grade class; which also makes this a good connection to my family and friends!  This blog will be nearly my only connection to my homeland and the people I meet along the way. So talk to me! Leave me a message. Ask or tell me what ever you know will be seen by everyone I know. That includes a 4th grade class that will be traveling by my side.  My project will be to write to everyone with my 4th grade class as top priority!
