Unfortunately Sam is having some trouble keeping his blog updated. He has found out that he will be limited to 126 minutes of internet time over the course of his trip. He has asked me to convey as much information as I can. I am sorry you will not have a direct connect to Sam but at this time it is the best we can do.
ReplyDeleteSam got off to a great start. He was able to meet his brother, Eric, in Newark, New York for a few minutes to share a coffee and a few gifts. They had wanted to have a nice dinner together but time was not on their side. Sam then traveled on to Halifax, Nova Scotia to meet up with some Semester at Sea buddies and spend the night in the airport before meeting on board the ship the next day. They spent their first night mustering and getting settled in their cabins. Sam said that by this time he was so exhausted from being up for more than 24 hours traveling that the ship lulled him into a much needed sleep. He will spend the next seven days at sea. He says that all you can see is blue water and at night lots of stars with the moon reflecting off the water; sounds pretty awesome to me. Sam's computer has also been giving him some issues when it decided to wipe out a program that he is now trying to retreive. Hopefully, I will be able to send him what he needs. His first port is Cadiz, Spain. If you are like me, you have search this place and have found it beautiful. I know I am extremely jealous in what he is about to see. I will try very hard to send you addresses and deadline date if you are interested in sending a care package. They do recommend only sending paper items and nothing else. Sam is off to a good start and sounds extremely happy in the choice he has made. Look for further blogs from me via Sam.
